Energy and currency markets as of 1 May 2026 showed a strong rebound in crude oil, continued weakness in USD INR, and mixed trends in natural gas. Crude oil surged to 108.17, rising 9.12% weekly from 99.13 and 4.61% monthly from 103.40. It posted a sharp 53.02% quarterly and 74.10% yearly gain, trading 83.59% above its yearly low of 58.92 (16 December 2025), while remaining -5.44% below its high of 114.39 recorded on 19 March 2026. USD INR weakened to 94.90, declining -0.69% weekly, -1.67% monthly, and -3.50% quarterly, with a steep -12.19% yearly drop. The pair is -12.59% below its yearly high of 84.29 (5 May 2025) and hovering near its yearly low of 94.91 recorded on 30 April 2026. Natural Gas edged up to 2.78, gaining 3.73% weekly, though still down -2.80% monthly and sharply -36.09% quarterly. On a yearly basis, it is -18.95% lower, trading 7.34% above its yearly low of 2.59 (14 April 2026), but remains significantly -47.35% below its high of 5.28 seen on 5 December 2025.
