Weekly Polymer Market Summary
Polymer prices showed a mixed-to-firm movement as of 4 September 2026. Four of the five tracked polymers recorded weekly gains, while elevated crude continued to add pressure to polymer input and freight costs.
Weekly Polymer Movement
🔺 PP: ₹142.40/kg | Up 0.46%
🔺 LLDPE: ₹131.40/kg | Up 1.27%
🔺 HDPE BM: ₹127.40/kg | Up 0.31%
🔻 LDPE: ₹158.90/kg | Down 0.22%
🔺 PVC: ₹95.15/kg | Up 1.49%
PVC recorded the strongest weekly increase at 1.49%, while LDPE was the only polymer to close marginally lower.
Broader Price Movement
- PVC also led the monthly and quarterly gains, rising 8.25% and 12.60%, respectively.
- PP recorded the strongest yearly increase at 62.84%.
- LLDPE, HDPE BM and LDPE remained lower on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- All five polymers continued to trade above their corresponding levels from last year.
Crude Oil Remains Elevated
🛢️ Brent crude closed at $96.28/bbl.
🔺 Weekly: +9.28%
🔺 Monthly: +21.32%
🔺 Quarterly: +1.32%
🔺 Yearly: +43.72%
The sharp weekly and monthly rise in crude continues to support upstream costs and may increase pressure on polymer production, imports and freight.
