India’s Polymer Market Sees Broad-Based Price Gains

Major polymer grades have recorded 31–59% price increases between February and October 2026, reflecting a significantly higher price environment.

Market Snapshot

🛢️ Brent Crude: $101.53/bbl ▲ 0.94%
💱 USD/INR: ₹96.56 ▲ 0.18%

Crude remains above $100/bbl while USD/INR stays above ₹96, keeping the broader cost environment elevated.

Price Movement | Feb → Oct 2026

🔴 PP Raffia: ₹95 → ₹149/kg | ▲ 59%
🔴 LDPE: ₹110 → ₹165/kg | ▲ 50%
🔴 LLDPE: ₹96 → ₹140/kg | ▲ 46%
🔴 HDPE BM: ₹91 → ₹131/kg | ▲ 44%
🔴 PVC: ₹74 → ₹97/kg | ▲ 31%

What does this mean?

With polymer prices up 31–59% since February, maintaining the same inventory now requires more working capital. As inventory costs increase, more cash gets locked in stock, putting additional pressure on cash flow.

PolyMart Perspective

·         Crude and currency remain important, but demand, supply, inventories and producer revisions are also key market drivers.

·         In a higher-price environment, buyers should focus on requirement-based procurement, efficient inventory planning and cash-flow management.
