Crude Above $100, USD/INR Above ₹96 — What It Means for Polymer Buyers

Global cost indicators remain elevated even as both crude and USD/INR ease marginally.

🛢️ Crude Oil: $101.71/bbl ▼ 0.53%
Crude remains above the $100 mark, keeping energy and petrochemical feedstock costs in focus.

💱 USD/INR: ₹96.25 ▼ 0.05%
The rupee has strengthened slightly, but with USD/INR still above ₹96, imported polymers and feedstocks remain relatively expensive.

📈 3-Month Polymer Price Trend

The broader trend across PP, LLDPE, HDPE and LDPE remains higher than July levels.

While prices have cooled from recent September peaks, the 3-month chart shows that much of the earlier upward movement has not fully reversed.

01 October reference levels:
🔵 PP: ₹149.4/kg
🟣 LLDPE: ₹139.4/kg
🟠 HDPE: ₹132.4/kg
🟢 LDPE: ₹164.6/kg

💡 PolyMart Perspective

• Crude above $100 keeps feedstock costs in focus.
• USD/INR above ₹96 keeps import costs elevated.
• Polymer prices have cooled from recent highs but remain above July levels.
• Buyers should also watch producer revisions, demand, supply and inventory before making procurement decisions.
